Just watch this film.
I got to it because of M. Night Shyamalan, and it was everything I hoped for. The premise of the story is a split-personality patient abducting young girls for sacrifice.
But the kind of take this movie takes on the disorder, the build-up, and the revelation in the end are all fresh and extremely satisfying. The movie leaves you conflicted with how abuse changes people. Towards the end, you will feel sorry for the little girl who manages to escape the killer only to return to her abusive uncle. You wonder who is worse.
James McAvoy shines as the protagonist(?) of the movie. This movie would be impossible to understand if it weren’t for his changing mannerisms with each alter ego. The young girls and his therapist do their bit with great perfection too.
But beyond the cast, the storytelling is what makes this thriller even more thrilling. It’s a great watch for a weekend. Don’t miss it.
